OREANDA-NEWS. In the Russian Google Photos application, facial recognition feature from photos has appeared.  Previously, this option was available only to US residents. The IT giant sent out a notification to users of the July 11 program.

 Google sent notifications to Russian users of the application.  Recognition is possible not only for human faces, but also for animals.

 In the "Albums" photos are grouped by persons, and the user can assign names to them.  Indexing photos can take from half an hour to a week.

 The help section of Google Photo indicates that the user can disable the grouping function, as a result, groups of images in the account, shortcuts, as well as models of persons on the basis of which these groups were created will be deleted.
