OREANDA-NEWS. The Minsk City Court on Tuesday, June 1, in closed mode considered the complaint about the detention of the editor-in-chief of local media Tut.by Marina Zolotova and journalist Elena Tolkacheva. The court upheld the preventive measure in the form of detention.

Zolotova and Tolkacheva are being held in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Minsk. Both are charged in the case of «complicity in tax evasion on a particularly large scale». They provide for up to 5 years of colony with a referral to an open-type correctional institution or from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.

In total, 15 people were detained in the «Tut.by case». In particular, we are talking about editorial staff who are not related to the economic activities of the company and the payment of taxes, the representatives of the portal note.

According to the Department of Financial Investigations (FIU), the company «received revenue that was not due to activities permitted for residents of the Hi-Tech Park».
