OREANDA-NEWS. Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, commented to NEWS.ru on the decision of the Lithuanian Seimas to recognize Russia as a state "supporting terrorism." According to him, the Lithuanian parliamentarians "went crazy", and with their Russophobic hysteria they crossed all boundaries.
“What measures to introduce there, if they have gone nuts there, excuse me for the rude non-parliamentary expression, I can’t name it otherwise. They crossed all borders with their Russophobic hysteria. Maybe they bombed and destroyed international terrorists in Syria? Maybe they destroyed international terrorists in the North Caucasus, in Iraq? No, it was Russia that did it, which has now been given the title of "terrorist state. Well, if you are so smart and you think that your great neighbor is a terrorist state, why are you taking its gas to heat your at home? Why are you taking other goods? Refuse the gas of the terrorist state, heat with firewood, there are a lot of forests in Lithuania," Dzhabarov said.
The senator expressed the hope that over time, Lithuanian politicians, who gained their independence thanks to Russia, the USSR, will sooner or later be ashamed. They will understand that in these difficult years they behaved, "to put it mildly, unworthy."
Earlier, the Lithuanian Seimas (the country's highest legislative body) adopted a resolution recognizing Russia as a state "supporting terrorism." 128 members of the Seimas out of 141 voted for the adoption of the resolution. In the adopted document, the deputies called on the UN, the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to recognize and prosecute the actions committed by the authorities and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
