OREANDA-NEWS. The British TV channel announced the filming of a documentary series about Russian President Vladimir Putin. The picture was called "Putin: the history of the Russian spy". “As president, Putin decided to "make Russia great again” and move it to the world stage. He outlived three American presidents and four British prime ministers”, the report said.
Filming will take place in Russia, the USA, Great Britain, as well as in a number of European countries, the film will show how Putin "brought his knowledge in the field of espionage craft" to the post of head of a nuclear power, the channel reports. The series will include both Putin himself and his close associates, as well as those who have most influenced his actions, according to the TV channel.
“It will examine how Putin’s personal experience influenced his politics, how modern Russia was created thanks to a keen sense of betrayal, pride and anger, and how Putin’s values were exported around the world - from Crimea to Salisbury, to Washington”, the statement said.
The release date of the series in Channel 4 was not called. The director will be Nick Green, who shot documentaries about Ancient Rome (Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall of an Empire, 2006), Albert Einstein (Einstein's Unfinished Symphony, 2005), as well as Soviet officer Stanislav Petrov, who prevented a potential nuclear conflict in 1983 due to the false positive of the U.S. missile attack warning system (The Man Who Stopped WW3: Revealed, 2012).
In May, the British entertainment channel announced the launch of the comedy talk show “Evening with Vladimir Putin”, hosted by an animated model of the President of Russia. Spokesman for the head of state Dmitry Peskov said that Putin didn't look at the caricatures of himself. “He doesn't want to be anything like them. May these cartoons resemble him”, he said.
