OREANDA-NEWS The radio channel and the website of "Echo of Moscow" will be liquidated. This decision was made by the board of directors by a majority vote, Alexey Venediktov, the editor-in-chief of "Echo", said in the telegram channel.

Recall that on March 1, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that the RCN restrict access to the sites of the "Echo of Moscow" radio station and the "Dozhd"* TV channel.

The ministry said that the websites of "Echo of Moscow" and "Dozhd"* "purposefully and systematically" published "calls for extremist activity, violence, as well as deliberately false information regarding the actions of Russian servicemen in the framework of a special operation to protect the DPR and LPR." Almost immediately after the publication of the official message of the Prosecutor General's Office, the websites of the publications were blocked.

By the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office, the "Echo of Moscow" channel in "Yandex.Zen" and the official page of "Echo" in the social network "VKontakte"was also blocked. And Google turned off the radio station's YouTube channel from broadcasting in Europe, citing the fact that the radio company is associated with Gazprom.
