MAPS.ME Apps Are Based on OpenStreetMap Crowd-Sourcing Map
"The launch of the map editor in MAPS.ME was a great stride for the whole OpenStreetMap community. Every person can make its contribution in a few clicks to the development of open maps for users worldwide, help improve and obtain a more detailed map of its own city or district. We are glad that this function has proved to be so popular, and the number of edits is growing, making the life of every user of our maps better. We will make every effort to further develop the OpenStreetMap community", commented Eugene Lisovskiy, CEO of MAPS.ME.
The map is most often updated with restaurants, grocery stores, caf?s, stations and hotels. In addition to new points insertion, users actively edit the already existing ones: 40,000 points have been edited in six weeks and 16,000 of them were addresses. The top-5 countries for the average number of edits per user (among those with more than 100 MAPS.ME editors) are the following: the UAE, the USA, Mexico, China and Iraq./
