OREANDA-NEWS. The ICT Minister, Vasile Botnari paid a working visit to Singapore in the period May 30 - June 1, 2016. The visit is aimed at participation in the Ministerial Forum on Information technologies and communications, which is held annually in the smallest country of Southeast Asia.

"The Ministerial Forum on ITC- 2016" is organized by the Development Authority of Info-Communications in Singapore in collaboration with the World Economic Forum and the motto of this year's meeting is "Connectivity, Content and Cyber Security".

"Within the forum, the discussions were focused on the new business models and the ability of new information technologies and communications to raise the productivity and the competitiveness level in the interaction between various subjects in the government, business and society areas. Considering the continuous evolution of the ICT sector worldwide, special attention was paid to the development of OTT (over-the-top) services which will lead to the increase of demand and competition for the benefit of consumers, modernization of the telecommunications in terms of stimulating innovation and fair competition.

This year the IT specialists and government stakeholders for the first time had the opportunity to participate in a practical exercise - a cyber-attack simulation. The session was aimed at improving management decisions, identification of challenges, proposals and possible solutions.

During the event, the participants have the possibility to make an experience exchange within the frames of a networking session, find out the latest news on information technology and communications sector.

The ICT Minister, Vasile Botnari said that the Forum is a unique platform for interactive discussions and identification of viable solutions to overcome challenges, improve ICT regulatory policies and further modernization of this area.
