Google and Levi's team up for commuter smart jacket
OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2016. Google and Levi Strauss are showing off their latest wear: a commuter smart jacket.
The tech giant and denim maker on Friday unveiled the jacket, which is part of their Project Jacquard collaboration geared toward cyclists on the move.
The jacket will be available in a beta version this fall with a widespread release planned for next spring. It wasn't immediately clear how much it would cost.
With "a gesture, a tap, a swipe" you'll be able to get driving directions and control tunes via a sensor in the left cuff of the jacket. The thinking is that you can do this without having to look at any displays and keep your eyes directly on the road while riding your bike.
Take a quick look for yourself:
The jacket is machine washable, too. Don't forget to take out the sensor.
