SoundHound brings voice control to your favorite music apps

OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2016. SoundHound's song-identifying app has always had a good ear for music. Today, it wants to be an even better listener, with a new, hands-free "OK Hound" feature for its iOS app that'll let you control the app using voice commands. That includes the ability to add songs to your playlists wherever possible in apps like Spotify, Pandora and Apple Music.

OK Hound isn't an ever-present assistant like Siri, so you'll need to open the SoundHound app before it'll start listening for your command. Once you do, you'll be able to ask Hound to identify whatever song is currently playing, add a song to one of your playlists, or any one of a number of other commands demonstrated in a video SoundHound posted to YouTube. Sure, Siri can cover some of these same bases -- but not all of them, especially outside Apple Music.

The OK Hound feature is available starting today. SoundHound is a free app for iOS devices, though you'll need to pay \\$7 for an ad-free experience.
