Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 announced, watch first trailer
OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2016. After teasing a reveal for the past 24 hours, Bandai Namco today officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The game is coming out this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, though a specific release date was not specified.
An announcement trailer has also been released. Check it out:
Additionally, Bandai Namco has launched a website for the game, but it does not appear to be operational at this time. We'll report back with more details as they become available. The first game's developer, Japanese studio Dimps, is also behind the sequel.
The first Xenoverse was released in February 2015 for current- and last-generation consoles, as well as PC. However, it appears Xenoverse is leaving the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 generation behind.
GameSpot's Xenoverse review scored the fighting game a 6/10.
"Structurally, this is the most interesting and involved Dragon Ball game in years. The new spin on tired stories provides enough intrigue to keep you playing through even the most tiresome moments, and the enhancements you can make to your created character keep you completing missions well after the natural narrative conclusion," reviewer Josiah Renaudin said.
"It's rich in content, but the shallow battle system and unnecessarily bloated health bars of some foes make this feel more like a hesitant step in the right direction than a true home run for the franchise," he added. "Dragon Ball Xenoverse isn't a good fighting game, but it does have enough interesting supplementary features to make it a consideration."
