Facebook hires a judge to oversee its global litigation
OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2016. We're not sure what emoticon this elicits, but Social media giant Facebook has turned to the judiciary to beef up its in-house legal team.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal, who's presided over several big intellectual property cases in San Jose, Calif., has accepted a presumably much more lucrative position to oversee global litigation at Facebook.
Colin Stretch, Facebook's general counsel, said in a statement: "Paul has presided over hundreds of cases as Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of California, and has earned a reputation as a thoughtful and knowledgeable jurist with deep expertise in areas that are critically important to our company and our industry. We look forward to having him on our team."
