On Thursday, May 27, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake centered about east of Anaheim shook Orange County and other parts of Southern California, according to the US Geological Survey.

The earthquake has happened at about 5:07 p.m. According to the USGS, the epicenter was roughly two and a half miles east of Anaheim. Its depth was evaluated at about 3.3 miles.

it was a class four earthquake, what meant that there was significant quake but without any damage. Some locals from California told the USGS that they felt the tremors.  It was reported by the USGS that there also were minor shaking in Rancho Palos Verdes and Santa Monica.

An earthquake is the shaking of the Earth's surface appearing because of fast release of energy in the lithosphere, that leads to seismic waves. 

Earthquakes can range in size from those that are too little to be felt to powerful enough to throw things and people into the air and destroy entire towns.
