OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed hope that she would not meet Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the UN headquarters in New York. She spoke about this on Sputnik radio.

Answering the question of what she would do if she accidentally met Zelensky in the corridor of the headquarters, Zakharova hoped that "God has mercy."

Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, suggested that the president of Ukraine arrived at the high week of the UN General Assembly to convince the West to raise the stakes in the conflict with Russia. Prior to that, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, Zelensky opposed negotiations with Moscow.
