OREANDA-NEWS. Residents of Italy welcome Russian military specialists who have arrived in the country to assist in the fight against coronavirus. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, wrote about this on Facebook on Thursday.

The diplomat drew attention to a television report with the participation of Colonel Igor Bogomolov, head of the Scientific Research Center for Special Purpose Biological Protection. “The march is taking place normally,” said Colonel Bogomolov amid a Russian military convoy resting on a halt in Italy. He also added that the locals are joyfully greeting our army and do not feel that you are in another country", said Zakharova.

From the evening of March 22 to the morning of March 25, 15 aircraft arrived in Italy, which brought there about 100 Russian military virologists and specialists of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the field of epidemiology, eight medical and nursing teams to fight against coronavirus, as well as equipment for diagnosis and disinfection.
