OREANDA-NEWSThe head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, on his Facebook announced the indefinite postponement of the Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF), which was supposed to be held on April 23–25. He explained this decision by the spread of the coronavirus in the world.

Aksenov called the transfer of the forum a "purely preventive measure". “Many foreign guests traditionally take part in the YIEF, including from countries where the coronavirus has been detected”, the head of Crimea wrote.

Aksyonov said it was too early to talk about when the forum could take place. In turn, the chairman of the Crimean State Council Committee on Tourism, Resorts and Sports, Alexey Chernyak, in an interview with Kryminform, suggested that the NIEF could be held in May-June, which will have more effect in terms of promoting the tourist component of the peninsula.

The Yalta Forum has been held annually since 2015. In addition to businessmen from Europe, Latin America and Africa, he was also visited by delegations from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. So, for example, in 2019 in Yalta, its leader Denis Pushilin spoke, inviting foreigners to cooperate with companies from the Donbass.
