WHO Recommended Wearing Masks Outdoors
OREANDA-NEWS. During coronavirus pandemic, it is necessary to wear a protective mask indoors and outdoors if it is impossible to maintain a safe distance. This is stated in the updated recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).
If citizens are unable to maintain a safe distance of 1 meter (three steps), then they, including children from 12 years old, should wear a mask, even if the room is well ventilated. Children under 5 years should not wear masks, and if the child’s age is between six and 11 years, the decision should be made taking into account the situation.
In the buildings of healthcare enterprises, masks should be worn by everyone in all areas, including cafes and staff rooms.
Earlier, on December 2, the WHO reported that the number of new cases of COVID-19 in the world over the past week increased by almost 4 million. From23 to 29 of November, 3,935,330 cases and 69,916 deaths were recorded. A week ago, the growth in the number of new cases was higher: 4,060,891.
