Most Russians are confident that the marriage should be officially registered. Experts of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center came to this conclusion after the survey on July 4, 2019.

According to their data, 77% of the population of Russia support mandatory registration of family relations.

It clarifies the TASS, especially popular this opinion in people over 60 years (84%). Also young people from 19 to 24 years old (17%) and from 25 to 34 years old (18%) are in solidarity with this. Another 11% expressed a similar opinion, but they do not consider marriage registration as a mandatory measure for creating a family.

It is noted that 94% of respondents consider the optimal age for marriage is 24 years for women and 27 years for men.

Discussing the topic of divorce, 56% of respondents said that such a decision needs to be made, given the individual situation, another 30% think that divorce is possible with the actual dissolution of the family, and another 10% do not consider the possibility of divorce.

Among the reasons that could change the decision to file for divorce, the Russians called the impossibility of “dividing” children (34%) and the financial dependence of one of the spouses (25%).

The respondents said that poverty and the inability to provide households (46%), adultery and jealousy of one of the lovers (22%), selfishness and misunderstanding in a couple (21%) can push for a divorce.
