OREANDA-NEWS In the summer of 2024, the average spending of Russians on vacation did not exceed 100 thousand rubles per family member, 3% paid more than 200 thousand rubles for a vacation, a VTB bank survey showed.

The survey was conducted on a representative sample of 1,500 people aged 18 to 65 in cities with a population of more than 100,000 people.

"Among the survey participants, 24% spent up to 30,000 rubles on summer vacations (38% last year) per family member, another 27% - from 30 to 100 thousand rubles (the same amount last year). Spending by 7% of Russians and 10% of residents of Moscow and the Moscow region averaged from 100 to 200 thousand rubles. Another 3% paid more than 200 thousand rubles for the trip, and 3% of the survey participants admitted that they rested at someone else's expense," the bank's press service reports.

65% of Russians went on vacation in the summer, mostly the vacation was planned (56%). 12% had to give up their summer vacation, and another 22% replied that they would go on vacation at another time of the year.

"Most often, Russians spent their holidays at home (22% of respondents) and in the country (22%), as well as with friends (13%). Among the popular travel destinations this year were the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory (13%), Moscow, St. Petersburg and other major cities (11%), as well as Crimea (6%). 5% have visited Turkey, Egypt, and the UAE abroad. In the Caucasus or Lake Baikal - 3% of respondents each," the message says.

About a third of Russians (35%) noted an increase in vacation expenses this summer compared to last year: 17% of expenses increased significantly, another 18% reported a slight increase in spending. 16% of respondents spent the same amount on vacation as a year earlier, 11% of summer vacation expenses decreased.
