OREANDA-NEWS State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated the citizens on Russia Day and pointed to the development of the country. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

Volodin stressed that Russia is developing despite the threats of the United States and the European Union to tear the country's economy to shreds. He recalled that over the past more than ten years, more than 21 thousand sanctions have been imposed against Moscow. In his opinion, challenges only make Russia stronger.

"Russia has been going through different periods. But in the most difficult times, people have always united, stood shoulder to shoulder to defend their homeland," he said.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak assessed the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy. In his opinion, the restrictions failed to isolate Moscow. Prior to that, the head of the country's Finance Ministry, Anton Siluanov, said that sanctions had become one of the key factors in the development of the Russian economy.
