OREANDA-NEWS Sergei Tsekov, first deputy head of the Crimean parliament, said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had publicly, brazenly and cynically lied about life on the peninsula. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

In his opinion, the politician was trying to deceive, first of all, Ukrainians and residents of European countries. "But I am sure that the time will come when Ukrainians and the population of Western countries will understand what a deceitful, worthless and insignificant person was at the head of Ukraine," the deputy said. Tsekov stressed that the real stage of development and prosperity of Crimea began in 2014.

Earlier, Zelensky said that the peninsula is without Ukrainians. According to him, there has been no tourism in Crimea for 11 years. Zelensky added that 3 million tourists came to the peninsula in the summer, 2.8 million of them Ukrainians. The Russian Ministry of Economic Development, in response to the words of the Ukrainian leader, called Crimea one of the most popular tourist destinations in Russia.
