OREANDA-NEWS  The Presidents of Russia and Tajikistan spoke on the phone. During the conversation, Vladimir Putin invited Emomali Rahmon to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day, the press service of the President of Tajikistan reported.

The Heads of state discussed the development of Tajik-Russian relations, the situation on the border of Tajikistan and Afghanistan and the schedule of bilateral events for 2023. Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon confirmed the readiness of the parties for the progressive development of ties in various spheres of cooperation, the press service noted.

Messrs. Putin and Rahmon exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Victory. The Russian President also invited his Tajik counterpart to visit Moscow to participate in events dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day. The press service of the President of Tajikistan clarified to RIA Novosti that Emomali Rahmon will take part in the celebration of Victory Day in Dushanbe. The decision to travel to Moscow has not yet been made.

On May 9, a solemn parade in honor of Victory Day will take place on Red Square. According to the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin will speak at it. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will also take part in the solemn event on Red Square.
