OREANDA-NEWS. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed confidence that by mid-summer the collective immunity of the planet's inhabitants will reach 60 percent. And in August it will be possible to remove the masks for the first time.

In an interview with TASS, Peskov expressed optimism, saying that it seemed to him that "such immunization should come around the middle of summer. August will already be held without masks."

Professor Anatoly Altstein, virologist, employee of the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Gamaleya, agreed with Peskov. The expert believes that by September the coronavirus pandemic will not be so large-scale, and the daily number of cases will be very low. The virologist made his prognosis on radiokp.ru.

According to Altstein, mass vaccination will help in the early end of the pandemic. If within two or three months everyone who wants to get vaccinated, then by the fall, collective immunity will develop.

According to the scientist, vaccination is now becoming a very important factor. Vaccines are developed, approved by the World Health Organization. And a very important component is their application. Vaccination, according to the Russian expert, is the most difficult and difficult to organize component of all this work.

Altstein noted that it is not easy to organize the production, delivery of the vaccine, and especially vaccination in the field, so that the maximum number of those who wish to receive this vaccine will receive it. If all this is respected, then, in his opinion, by September the country can obtain sufficient collective immunity.
