OREANDA-NEWS. According to the secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the Russian regions have announced their readiness for vaccination against COVID-19.

The release says that by the end of this week, mass vaccination will be launched in all regions of the Russian Federation. Local authorities have been instructed to organize the process, paying special attention to the regions where no more than two points of vaccination are deployed.

Mass vaccination started in Moscow on Sunday. So far, only teachers, doctors and social workers can get vaccinated, but soon it will become available to everyone.

To date, more than 150 thousand Russians have already taken root in "Sputnik V". This is the world's first drug for the prevention of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health registered it in mid-August. The vaccine was created at the Gamaleya Center on the basis of a well-studied platform of the human adenovirus vector. In the summer, she successfully completed two stages of research on volunteers between the ages of 18 and 60, who eventually developed an immune response and antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. Post-registration tests are underway.

In the near future, Russians will have the opportunity to choose a vaccine against coronavirus. If they wish, they can be vaccinated against COVID-19 with another domestic drug - EpiVacKorona from the Novosibirsk Center Vector. Other Russian vaccines are also being developed.
