OREANDA-NEWS. A group of US Air Force reconnaissance drones MQ-9 Reaper and about 90 American servicemen were transferred to one of the military bases in Romania.

They will be deployed at the airbase located in Campia-Turzii. Aircrafts will conduct information gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance in support of NATO operations, US Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa reported. The transferred equipment is deployed on the territory of Romania for a long time, the report adds. The exact period of deployment of drones at the base in Campia-Turzia is not indicated.

Unmanned aerial vehicles MQ-9 Reaper are manufactured by the American company General Atomics. They are capable of operating at altitudes of up to 13 thousand meters, gaining speeds of over 400 kilometers per hour and making flights up to 24 hours.
