OREANDA-NEWS. B-52 strategic bombers of the United States Air Force conducted a training flight over the Black Sea with the aim of training interaction with European allies and partners. This is stated on the website of the US European command.

It is reported that the flight, which lasted about 12 hours, included training with Romania, Ukraine and Georgia, bordering the Black Sea, and such deployment enhances global stability and security.

According to the monitoring website PlaneRadar, two strategic B-52H Stratofortress bombers took off from the British air base Fairford. By 17:20 Moscow time, one of them approached the Crimea, simulated the bombing, and at 17:50 began to move off.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Su-27 fighter was met an American bomber and escorted him during a flight along the border of territorial waters.

The Chairman of the Presidium of the public organization “Officers of Russia” Sergey Lipovoy said to journalists that the training flight of the US strategic bomber over the Black Sea and the simulation of bombing is Washington’s attempt to demonstrate its influence in the region, but from a military point of view, such actions are meaningless.

“Having lost in Syria and the Middle East on the whole, the United States is trying to strengthen its influence in Europe, in particular in the Black Sea region. Such flights are rather politics and propaganda. They are carried out to demonstrate the American allies that the Black Sea is still in the zone of US interests. But from the point of view of military tasks, all these flights are meaningless,” Lipovoy concluded.
