OREANDA-NEWS. The White House intends to pay 1 thousand dollars per every adult citizen and 500 dollars per child.

According to US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, these measures will be taken to support the population amid the coronavirus pandemic. The administration of US President Donald Trump is working to ensure that citizens receive payments within the next three weeks, Mnuchin said in an interview with Fox Business News.

The politician also said that Washington plans to allocate 500 billion dollars for direct cash payments to citizens as part of a large-scale package of incentive measures that should support American economy in the current conditions. If after another three weeks the economic crisis provoked by the pandemic does not decline, US citizens will receive similar payments again, Mnuchin added.
