OREANDA-NEWS. The US authorities announced the stoppage of three major terrorist financing campaigns. As part of the operation, the government gained control and is preparing to do so over the approximately 300 bitcoin addresses used by terrorist organizations.

As a result of a special operation, the authorities managed to recover more than 1 million dollars in cryptocurrency from companies financing terrorists. Law enforcement officials say that this operation represents the largest seizure of cryptocurrency in a terrorism context.

During the investigation, it turned out that the terrorists used the messenger Telegram, social networks, two websites, five accounts in financial institutions, and twelve addresses to attract funding.
