Ukrainian Minister Said Kiev Would Refuse to Use a Russian Vaccine against COVID-19
OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmiytro Kuleba stated that the country will abandon the coronavirus vaccine developed in Russia in favour of manufacturers from the European Union and the United States.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that there are several enterprises in the country that are ready to mass production of vaccines against COVID-19, and the Kiev authorities are negotiating with the countries developing such medications.
Commenting on the question of what Ukraine will answer if the Russian Federation offers its own vaccine, Kuleba said: “We are effectively cooperating with the European Union, the United States and other countries in this field.” At the same time, the Minister noted that Kiev has a very substantive dialogue with the EU and a very close dialogue with the USA regarding obtaining drugs against coronavirus. “And when I say “dialogue” this means that models of how we can get access to the vaccine, when it is at their disposal, are already being developed,” Kuleba explained.
