Ukrainian Court Decided to Arrest 65 Russian Airplanes for Flights to Crimea
OREANDA-NEWS. The Ukrainian court has decided to arrest 65 Russian airplanes flying to Crimea.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (a part of the structure of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine). “At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of the autonomy, arrests have been imposed on 65 aircrafts that violate the procedure for entering and leaving the occupied peninsula,” the message says. It is noted that the Crimean Main Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (located in the city of Kherson) is investigating the case. It was initiated on the facts of violation by officials of foreign airlines of the rules for international flights and of the procedure for entering and leaving the temporarily occupied territory.
The Prosecutor’s Office recalled that since March 2014, Ukraine has closed the airspace over Crimea due to the inability to oversee the safety of flights. Officially, Kiev has stopped functioning of all airports on the territory of the peninsula.
