Ukraine Will Demand Extradition of Suspects of Terrorism Detained in Belarus
OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian law enforcement officers will resolve the issue of the possible extradition of those detained in Belarus.
The press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that earlier today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus hosted meetings with Russian Ambassador Dmitry Mezentsev and head of the Ukrainian Embassy Pyotr Vrublevsky. “The issue of possible extradition or other legal actions will be decided by the relevant law enforcement and special bodies,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry informed.
On July 29, 33 people were detained in Belarus. They are allegedly related to the Wagner Group. Detainees are giving evidence. Some of them have Ukrainian citizenship. State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Lieutenant General Andrey Ravkov, reported that a criminal case was opened on the preparation of terrorist attacks. According to the officer, up to 200 militants are being searched for in Belarus now.
