OREANDA-NEWS The new version of the Ukrainian armored car "Varta-2" was first presented at the MSPO-2024 exhibition in Poland. The car received a combat module with an automatic cannon, writes Defence24.

The main difference between the modified Varta-2 was the uninhabited Sech combat module with a ZTM-1 automatic cannon (an unlicensed copy of the Soviet 2A72) of 30 mm caliber and a 7.62 mm machine gun. The module also received a thermal imaging sight and a laser rangefinder.

"Varta" with new weapons can be called an analogue of the Russian armored vehicle with enhanced mine protection "Typhoon-Airborne". The two-axle armored car is equipped with a remotely controlled BM-30-D "Spica" combat module with a 2A42 30 mm automatic cannon.

Earlier in September, a Typhoon airborne was spotted in the special operation zone with a lattice screen to protect the roof from kamikaze drones and ammunition dropped from quadrocopters.

In April, it became known that a fan-shaped ammunition supply device was being implemented in the Typhoon combat module, eliminating jamming of the cartridge belt.
