Two Suspects of Espionage for Ukraine Are Detained in Crimea
OREANDA-NEWS. The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) has detained in Crimea two suspects of espionage for Ukrainian military intelligence. This was announced on April 15 by the Center for Public Relations of the agency.
According to the FSB, the activities of the detainees were aimed at committing terrorist acts in the territory of Russia, as well as the theft of information containing state secrets.
One of the detainees is a citizen of Russia, servicewoman of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. According to investigators, in 2017–2018, she gave Ukrainian military intelligence information constituting a state secret. Another is a citizen of Ukraine suspected of espionage in the interests of Ukrainian special services.
The investigation department of the FSB has opened criminal cases of high treason and espionage.
