OREANDA-NEWS. Two explosions occurred on Tuesday night at an airbase located north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. This was reported by the TV channel Al Sumaria with reference to a statement by the republic’s security forces.

The incident took place on the northern outskirts of the city of Tikrit (Saladin Governorate) at the base, where Iraqi and American troops are stationed. After explosions, a strong fire broke out. It was localized by the civil defense brigades. According to preliminary data, there are no victims. The statement does not indicate what caused the incident.
