OREANDA-NEWS. Representatives of the ministries of energy of Turkmenistan and Russia discussed a draft memorandum of cooperation in the field of energy. According to the state news agency TDH, the meeting was held online.

"The preparation of a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of energy is the main topic of the online meeting held today at the country's Ministry of Energy", the TDH statement said.

The agency notes "good prospects for practical interaction and coordination of cooperation between the two states" in the electric power industry. In particular, we are talking about projects for the construction of a high-voltage power transmission line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP), interfacing the Central Asian electric power system, and the formation of a common electric power market of the Eurasian Economic Union by 2025.
