Turkish Army Has Commissioned Part of Russian Missile Systems S-400
OREANDA-NEWS. Turkey continues to deploy Russian anti-aircraft missile systems S-400 and has already commissioned several complexes.
This was announced on May 8 by the head of the Turkish Defense Industry Directorate, Ismail Demir. The official added that Russian side would not have the “desired access” to the S-400 deployed in Turkey. “Despite the fact that the supply agreement includes clauses on the training [Of Turkish military personnel. – Ed.], maintenance, technical support, Russian personnel will not be able to get the desired access to the S-400 batteries,” Demir said.
On April 30, Ibrahim Kalin, an official representative of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reported that the deployment of S-400 in the republic was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the politician added, “this process will continue as planned.”
