OREANDA-NEWS Entrepreneur and former US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that despite a long pause in communication, he believes that he has excellent relations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"I have a great relationship with Putin. I haven't spoken to him for a while, but we have a very strong relationship," Trump said.

The politician also added that if he were in the presidential position, he would be able to delay the start of a special military operation in Ukraine for several years. "[Putin] wouldn't have done it if it was me. He did it after I left [the post of US president]," he shared.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto expressed hope that former US President Donald Trump, if elected in 2024, would be able to end the conflict and ensure peace in Ukraine.
