US President Donald Trump said that he is ready to offer pardon to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange if he indicates the source from which the texts of the letters, stored on the servers of the Democratic Party, were received. This was reported by Reuters agency with reference to Assange’s lawyer.

The hacking of the servers of the Democratic Party in 2016 and the publication of classified information stored on it became one of the negative factors that affected the election campaign of Trump’s rival Hillary Clinton. Clinton herself called this information leak one of the main reasons for her defeat and blamed the hacking of the servers on Russian hackers.

The intelligence services of the United States blamed Russia for the attacks on the servers of the Democratic National Committee, accusing it of interference in the elections. Moscow has repeatedly denied all accusations of interference in them.
