OREANDA-NEWS. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the completion of the inspection of troops in the Southern and Western military districts and ordered the return of servicemen to their places of deployment.

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation said: "I believe that the objectives of the surprise check have been fully achieved. The troops have demonstrated the ability to ensure reliable defense of the country. The Russian Armed Forces are responding adequately to all changes in the situation near the Russian borders. Here, in Crimea, during a surprise check, actions for antiamphibious defense of the sea coast were worked out ".

The head of the Ministry of Defense assigned the task to the General Staff, the commander of the military districts and the Airborne Forces "to conduct a detailed analysis and sum up the results of a surprise check of the troops."

The personnel of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District, 41st Army of the Central Military District, the 7th, 76th and 98th Airborne Divisions should return to their permanent deployment points by May 1, the minister added. He stressed that commanders must prevent accidents along the way.

More than ten thousand people and 1.2 thousand units of weapons and military equipment took part in the exercises in Crimea, including the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems, the Inokhodets strike drones, and Raptor fast patrol boats.
