OREANDA-NEWS  In 2026, Russia is going to start building the first artificial island in the Black Sea. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

The bulk island is planned to be built next to Sochi. "Starting in 2026, we plan to start building protective hydraulic structures, since the island's body can only be made when the water area is protected from water and wind," said Bulat Shakirov, managing director of the Island One Corporation, which plans to implement the project.

The project is planned to be completed by 2031. To build an island with an area of 50 hectares, it will be necessary to invest at least one trillion rubles — these investments will pay off in about 12 years. The island will host hotel complexes, tourist, sports and recreational areas, music and theater venues, an apartment complex, as well as a center for exploring the Black Sea. The total area of the property will reach 1.5 million square meters.

Earlier in Kyrgyzstan, they were going to build a new environmentally friendly city called Kemin City. The city will be located in the Kichi-Kemin rural district of the Keminsky district of the Chui region, its area will be more than 353 hectares. President of the Republic Sadyr Japarov instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to develop and approve the construction concept by June 1, 2025.
