OREANDA-NEWS  The report of the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty of Russia states that Western countries may tighten sanctions during the presidential elections in March 2024. The Federation Council analyzed the situation and came to the conclusion that the West may try to interfere in Russia’s sovereign affairs.

There is a possibility that the West will tighten sanctions in order to put maximum pressure on the residents of Russia in order to provoke protest sentiments in the country. Also, Western structures can directly interfere in the conduct of elections and use falsification, disinformation and cyber-attacks.
