Vladimir Potanin, one of the main owners of Norilsk Nickel, took the first place in the ranking of billionaires — his fortune increased by $ 736 million last year, to $ 31.8 billion. Lisin came in second place with $29 billion, and Vagit Alekperov, co—owner of Lukoil, came in third, with $2.59 billion in wealth over the year, to $27.2 billion.

The BBI index is calculated based on the value of the shares of companies in which billionaires own shares. In total, the list includes the 500 richest people in the world, and their total wealth is 347.62 billion. There are 25 Russians among them.
