The US Imposed Sanctions Against the Head of the FSB Because of the Poisoning of Navalny

OREANDA-NEWS. The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions against the head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov over the poisoning of the politician Alexei Navalny. This is reported on the website of the department. In addition to Bortnikov, the 27th Scientific Center of the Ministry of Defense, the 33rd Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense and the Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology were included in the sanctions list due to the «proliferation of weapons of mass destruction».
Sanctions due to the situation in Ukraine were also imposed against the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Alexander Kalashnikov, Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov, Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko, deputy head of the Kremlin Administration Sergei Kiriyenko and head of the Kremlin's Department for Domestic Policy Andrey Yarin.
Later it became known, that the United States imposed sanctions against 13 other companies: Himmed, Femteco, Interlab, Labinvest, Analyt Products, Intertek Instruments, Pharmcontract, Rau Pharm and Regionsnab, located in Germany ChimConnect Gmbh, Pharmcontract and Riol-Chemie, as well as a company from Switzerland — ChimConnect AG. According to the US, these organizations supported Russian «weapons of mass destruction programs».
Earlier, similar sanctions were imposed by the European Union.
