The United States will Extend Trade Sanctions Against Russia Due to the Situation with Navalny
OREANDA-NEWS. The US Department of Commerce intends to extend export restrictions on Russia in connection with the situation with blogger Alexei Navalny. This is written in a statement made by the department, published on its website on March 17.
"The US Department of Commerce will increase limits on exports to Russia because of the case of chemical weapons poisoning," the statement said.
It is noted that new trade limits against Russia will go into effect on March 18.
At the beginning of March, the EU introduced restraints within the terms of the new global sense for human rights violations directed at four particular Russians for the Navalny's arrest and trial. The United States, following the EU, declared the imposing of restraints against the Russia. The sanction list contains 14 organizations with the formulation "for the production of biological and chemical weapons." Moreover, US restrictions influence certain persons and organizations, and since now they will contain export and visa restrictions.
Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of Putin, marked before that the new European and American constraints against Russia considerably damage the already deplorable relations between two countries. He stressed that the Kremlin is sure that the policy of restrictions directed at Russia is not reaching its purpose.
