OREANDA-NEWS The trade turnover between Russia and the United Arab Emirates in January-September 2023 increased by 63% compared to the same period last year, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters.
"The UAE is Russia's main foreign economic partner in the Arab world. In 2022, the mutual trade turnover has updated its historical maximum and reached a record level of $ 9 billion. In January-September of this year, it has already reached the $ 8.8 billion mark, adding 63% compared to last year's figures for the same period," Ushakov said.
According to him, this is largely facilitated by the active work of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to Abu Dhabi on December 6. According to Ushakov, priority attention at the negotiations of the delegations will be given to cooperation in the field of energy, both in a bilateral format and within the framework of OPEC+.
An important component of Russian-Emirati relations, according to the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, is industrial cooperation. "Promising projects are being worked out in almost all sectors: from automotive, civil aircraft, metallurgy to renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and digital technologies," Ushakov said.
