The Supreme Court of Russia Recognized the Movement AUE as Extremist
OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Supreme Court declared the movement AUE extremist. AUE comes from Prisoner’s Practice Is Unified, or Prisoner’s Thug Unity. These are the mottos of a subculture that promotes thieves’ and prisoners’ ideology among minors. Members of the movement are involved in crimes, organizing riots and escapes from places of detention, and the dissemination of extremist materials on the Internet.
“To satisfy the administrative claim of the prosecutor and recognize AUE as an extremist organization and ban it on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the Supreme Court’s message published on August 17 reads. The decision can be appealed within 14 days.
As it was reported on August 14 on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia, the agency will strengthen supervision over the prevention of the involvement of adolescents in criminal subcultures and the spread of the ideology of AUE.
