OREANDA-NEWS Russians who postpone paying taxes at the last moment risk missing the payment deadline and getting a fine, it is more profitable to pay them in advance, Nadezhda Shkolkina, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, told RIA Novosti.

The deadline for payment of transport, land and property taxes for individuals in Russia expires on December 2, that is, there are only two weeks left for this.

"Unfortunately, some people have such a trait in their character - to postpone everything for later, and this does not always work for the benefit of the citizen himself, since there is always such a moment as he forgot or spun. And taxes, as a rule, do not forgive such an attitude and can remind themselves of themselves in the form of significant fines. To prevent this from happening to you, it is better to pay them in advance," Shkolkina said.

"In general, I always adhere to the principle of not putting anything off until tomorrow if it can be done today, especially if it concerns taxes or filing returns. And it can be done now as comfortably as possible, including through the personal account of the Federal Tax Service," she concluded.

The Federal Tax Service (FTS) sends tax notifications to property owners in paper form by mail or electronically in the mobile application and the taxpayer's personal account on the service's website. In addition, you can pay taxes through "Public Services".

In addition to property taxes, personal income tax on their deposits has been accrued to bank depositors for the first time this year if the total amount of interest received on all deposits over the past year exceeded 150 thousand rubles. Only that part of income that exceeds the established threshold is taxed. The notification may also include a so–called tax on the rich - an additional 2% personal income tax on income exceeding 5 million rubles per year, if they were previously taxed only at the standard rate of 13%.
