OREANDA-NEWS  It is necessary to seek more active participation of Belarus in a special military operation (SWAP). This appeal was made by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin, he quotes Ura.ru.

"What would be useful, given the geographical proximity, is to ensure that Belarus also takes part in this," the parliamentarian said.

He explained that Minsk is able to help in its defense not directly — but as it was at the first stage of hostilities, when Belarus provided its territory so that Russia could operate on it. Zatulin admitted that Moscow may need to use the territory of Belarus to achieve its goals in its zone.

Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko praised Russia for HIS OWN, noting that it helped prevent the worst conflict in the region. The politician called the operation in Ukraine "a detail in the global confrontation for the multipolarity of the world."
