OREANDA-NEWS  The State Duma adopted a law on the protection of biometric data, it will prohibit discrimination against citizens who refused to transfer them.

The document establishes rules for processing information using a unified biometric system (UBS) or other information systems.
Thus, a ban is being introduced on forcing the delivery of biometrics, the storage of genomic information, the list of collected biometrics is limited — only the face and voice. The document provides for the possibility of simplified deletion of data from the system.

It is prohibited to use biometrics of children without parental consent, and the use of data is allowed only in databases located in Russia. The law excludes the possibility of foreign participation in the collection, processing and storage of biometrics.

Refusal to submit biometrics cannot become a reason for refusing to provide public services or other work to a citizen.  It will be possible to refuse to submit biometrics in writing at the offices of the MFC. It will be possible to revoke the previously given consent to data processing through "Public Services".
