The Speaker's Daughter, who was Elected to the Parliament of St. Petersburg, will Return his Last Name
OREANDA-NEWS. Marina Lybaneva, who ran for the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, who is the daughter of its chairman Vyacheslav Makarov, has applied to change her surname to her father's. This is reported by "RBC Petersburg" with reference to the head of the Department for information and public relations of the legislative body Elena Gavrishchuk.
Lybaneva ran in the same district where her father was elected for many years: she went to the elections as an independent candidate in the single-mandate district No. 3. According to the automated system of GAS "Elections", 31.2 thousand voters voted for her, while 11.1 thousand voted for her rival Igor Korolev.
Now Lybaneva holds the post of first deputy head of the Petrogradsky district administration.
This year, Vyacheslav Makarov withdrew from the primaries for the St. Petersburg parliament. He stood at the head of the United Russia list for St. Petersburg in the State Duma elections, RBC sources previously reported. About 452 thousand (33%) voters voted for United Russia in the city, according to the CEC data.
Makarov made the decision to participate in the primaries for the State Duma at the end of April. The interlocutors of RBC in the ruling party noted that the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, was primarily interested in his departure.
Vyacheslav Makarov is 66 years old. He chaired the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the VI convocation, and was also a deputy of the St. Petersburg Parliament from 2003 to 2021 (III-VI convocations).
The day before, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that serious violations were detected at six or seven polling stations in the city during the last elections, so there is every reason to cancel their results. According to her, in one case, a criminal case may be initiated.
