OREANDA-NEWS  In accordance with the decision of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, the second phase of the exercises with non-strategic nuclear forces has started. During this phase, issues related to the joint training of military units of the Russian Armed Forces and Belarus for the operational use of non-strategic nuclear weapons will be addressed.

The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that the exercises aim to maintain the readiness of personnel and equipment of military units to use non-strategic nuclear weapons in Russia and Belarus, in order to ensure the unconditional sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Union State.During the first stage of the exercise, the personnel of the missile units of the Southern Military District practiced tasks related to obtaining special training missiles for the Iskander tactical missile system, loading them onto launch vehicles, and moving covertly to a designated position in preparation for missile launches.
